Typical Apple morning at the Art Mill

Believe it or not, one morning we had nine of these on the table. :)

Art Mill EXTRAS!

Here's some preliminary footage of content for Carrie's new work alongside Carolyn, excercised in front of the Art Mill. It's a sort of butt dance shot by Vanessa.

Final full day at the Art Mill

So I'm going to start including content from days past that I simply didn't have time to upload. These two weeks have been transformative and I can't wait to begin building towards next year!

In the spirit of this beautiful mural next to the volunteer Fire House and beside the Grocery Store parking lot, I intend to continue to connect with both the community here in "Jeff" as well as my NYC peeps.

This morning has seen us dancing in the kitchen to Dolly Parton's "9 to 5", we were greeted by a farewell note from Marta Renzi who joined us last night with homemade cookies and great conversation, she left very early this morning, and we were also joined last night by Run Shayo, Jennifer Sydor and Daniel Fabricatore!!!

In a few hours we expect to be joined by Blakely White-McGuire and Joshua Higgason as well as the AMAZING Mark Messer who is riding up on his bike all the way from Astoria!!! Yay!

What an Amazing Night!

So tonight was amazing!!!! I got to meet two of our amazing neighbors Jackie & Stanley up the street. We also got to Skype the amazing and brilliant Kelly Aucoin husband to our visiting Carolyn Hall. We checked out the temperature in Death Valley --- it's very hot! I was introduced to an amazing new app that allowed me to transform my iPhone into an 8mm camera!! Enjoy.

Later we're having a meditation session with Anthony. We found a sexy cake recipe in one of our hosts cookbooks

and later we'll be watching some short film clips by Maya Deren!

Sluggish day so far

So it's been a bit sluggish for me, but Carrie and crew seem to be getting loads done up in the studio. I've been impatiently waiting for a money transfer from our Fractured Atlas fund to post to my account so that we can buy some more groceries. I love the folks at FA. They're so helpful and responsive, it's a real treat to be fiscally sponsored by them. I think I'm going to go and read a bit more of the Twyla Tharp Creative Habit book and journal a bit more. Anthony's offered a mediation session at 2PM and then I hope to do another Seek-Fitness workout before dinner. Might finally get started on my brand new personal website too, now that I feel I must abandon iWeb.

So I returned from dropping off Kyla and Joy in Monticello at the bus station and returned to the Art Mill to discover that Sunday must be reading day up here. :-)

Fun Warmup b4 Workout

Getting ready to bike Jeffersonville!!!

Movie_on_8-4-11_at_1.33_PM.mov Watch on Posterous
Hey there, so like the song says "Let The Sunshine In". The rain has ended and another beautiful day at the Art Mill is underway. Kristin is offering Joy her astrological reading (mine was last night and it was pretty awesome), Guillermo, Oscar and I are going to ride bikes for a bit, I did some phone meetings with Dance/NYC regarding tech upgrade, my DJ guru and all around genius Ernie getting me set up to learn to beat mix in the nightlife scene, spoke with Andy who's getting ready to join us, and I'm thinking and planning to make French Toast tomorrow morning for the gang, ala my father's recipe. Still to come, I'm going to be teaching the Britney Spears' routine I perform with the endlessly talented Misty Meaner, we'll be doing the latest Ray taught Seek-Fitness routine for a good work out, a contact jam in the studio tonight and perhaps a makeup party as well. Stay tuned!

The Towne Gift Shoppe

P79

Just met Kristin at the Towne Gift Shoppe on main Street. Ordered a set of agate magnets for the fridge at the Art Mill. Having a bit of a slow start today. Finished watching Star Wars this morning and managed to solve one of my the issues but still haven't tackled a lot of things on my agenda. Hmmm... Excited for Andy's arrival later today.

Dinner time @ the Art Mill

Movie_on_8-3-11_at_7.58_PM.mov Watch on Posterous
So it's night time and it's been a really chill rainy day here in Jeffersonville. The Art Mill thrives despite the weather. Took care of some vehicular business with the local State Troopers earlier today, and have been dealing with some technological hurdles while making time to fit in a great workout provided to us via video message from Ray at Seek-Fitness alongside Guillermo and Eun Jung. Walked in the rain to town to get a few supplemental groceries and cooked myself the only thing I know how to make, some pasta with shrimp. Eun Jung & Guillermo & Oscar continue to move closer to preparing for a film shoot in the coming days. I saw her start to construct some costumes out of old newspapers and with some spray paint she bought from the local hardware store. Anthony showed me the natural Mint tea that he and Kristin actually found on the premises and Kristin will be giving an Astrological reading later on tonight. Tonight's movie may turn out to be Star Wars! Wishing you were all here. Kyla and Joy have been mysteriously quiet most of the day, but I really appreciated their moral support in making my first visit to the compost pile by the barn. ;-) Excited to welcome the inexhaustable Andy Chapman tomorrow morning to make our motley crew a wonderful number 9, number 9, number 9.....

Just had the car fixed by the town's Mayor! ;-) How cool is that?

Day 3.... or....

Photo_on_8-3-11_at_8

Alright so it's Day 3, morning here at the Art Mill. Technically it's my day 4 but I'd like to stick with the group. We are now 8 artists with the successful arrival of Joy. Kyla and I had an amazing time in Monticello, discovering the street fair and winding up at town hall listening to a blues band while finding a really cool vendor by the name of Mr. Mark. He spoke with us for a good hour or so about his life and traveling the world, selling his silver wares like rings and earings, and coming home a few years ago to tend to his then ailing mother who had since passed. He's preparing to venture out into Southeast Asia once again. We all spoke about four different languages during our talk and I got 3 new headbands that reminded me of similar items I got in Barcelona years ago, and for the first time since college I got a brand new earring. We spoke on travel, politics, religion and society. Would love to have Mr. Mark sell his wares at a performance we could one day organize here at the Art Mill in Jeffersonville. We'll see what today holds....

Art Mill Dinner

Magic Surprise

Picking Up Joy!!!

....and we're also picking up a beautiful woman named Joy. ;-) It's been an interesting Day 2 here at the Art Mill. The house expanded from just Kyla and I to 7 of us now and tonight with Joy it'll be 8! We watched Kundun last night into the late hours. Several of us got up early today and went grocery shopping hence the earlier post featuring the antique car we all saw. Had a delicious brunch. Managed to re-tool this blog and eager to move forward with a new website thanks to Eun Jung's suggestion of using Weebly. I've been lamenting the impending loss of iWeb but it does seem that there are a number of equally powerful free options available. I'm currently not sure what to use as a replacement for the impending loss of the MobileMe Galleries which I just absolutely love. Flickr vs Picassa or perhaps another service. I think I'll send out a general SOS regarding this in a separate post. All in all the highlight was creating our own workout circuit, having not yet heard back from Ray at Seek-Fitness. Guiellermo partnered with me and we kicked some ass. As fate would have it, Ray texted us his youtube workout just as we were in the middle of our circuit. It looks awesome and I'm eager to hit it tomorrow. If you're reading this please do leave a comment and if you're an artist in need of a retreat, hit us up to. There's still plenty of room and the more the merrier. Not sure what movie we'll be seeing tonight but I'm really hoping for DV8's The High Cost of Living. Also got to Skype with the folks down in FL and took them on a handheld tour of the place. Upwards and onwards.
